Not necessarily: Your doctor should discuss your history with you. Once you've discussed your endocarditis, he/she will most likely prescribe an antibiotic mixture during the procedure as a preventative measure to prevent another episode of endocarditis. Insist on a thorough discussion of the risks and benefits of the procedure. Ask questions!
