A member asked:

Why does my systolic bp vary through the day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal variation: BP normally varies throughout the day, usually being highest in the morning, and then peaking again in the afternoon. It will vary with stress, stimulant intake (eg, caffeine), and activity level. People with high blood pressure can have wider-than-normal swings in bp, particularly in response to activity, stress, and times when their medication levels wane.
