What's alternative medicine considered to be in a more global society?

Just that: Alternative medicine is alternative medicine.Although some cultures have long tract records of using accupuncture, herbals, meditation, etc;there are still not enough controlled studies to advocate most of these therapies as primary care to most medical conditions. On individual cases some have proved helpul for selective issues on some pts especially as adjunct treatments.

Varies: I can only speak for acupuncture. It is practiced throughout asia, europe, & canada. It is regularly taught in many european medical schools. In some areas of china, traditional medicine is the only care that is readily available. The United States is on the tail end of modern countries that are accepting acupuncture. We could learn a lot from the french, who invented auricular acupuncture.
