CAM: Complementary and alternative medicine ("cam") is a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that usually aren't considered a part of conventional medicine. "complementary" treatments might be used in conjunction with conventional ones; "alternative" treatments would be used instead of conventional ones. For a lot more info, see: http://nccam.Nih.Gov/.

Alternative Medicine: Alternative medicine blends the best of eastern and western medicine and should be referred to more as integrative medicine , a title that more accurately reflects this.

CAM: Alternative medicine includes practices not taught in traditional allopathic US medical schools and not typically practiced in US hospitals. Complementary medicine is the combination of traditional allopathic care with hopefully evidence-based alternative medicine, also called integrative medicine.
