Many Uses: Beta glucans are cell wall sugars advocated for use to treat high cholesterol, diabetes, cancer, hiv/aids, and to boost the immune system. Of these, data suggests use can reduce total and LDL cholesterol after several weeks of treatment. Some data supports use for increasing survival in people with cancer (when given along with conventional treatment for at least a year) and preventing infections.
