Antiinflammatory : Cortisol is a very important anti-inflammatory hormone secreted by your adrenal cortex. It is natures prednisone. Too little cortisol can manifest as low blood sugar, inflammation, anorexia and other symptoms (this would be called and adrenal crisis) too much cortisol = muscle wasting, osteoporosis, weight gain, high blood sugar, and other symptoms.
