Through Injuries!: Unless i'm missing something in your question, muscle imbalances (differences in strength) may cause undo strain on supporting structures when lifting. Nerves and nerve roots can by compressed accidentally by inappropriate twisting in order to hoist weight. This is dangerous and should be scrupulously avoided by trying to strengthen all muscle groups similarly.
