A member asked:

How can i pick the best hospital if my child has an emergency when we travel?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Closest IS best.: If your child has an emergency when you travel - go to the nearest hospital - it is the best. The concept of "best" often doesn't make sense when talking about very complex systems. You can find excellent care at most us hospitals even if they are not ranked highly.
