Different drugs: Meridia is a wt loss medication that was taken off the market in 10/2010 due to cardiovascular risk. Phentermine is another weight loss medication that is still being used and is approved for short term weight loss therapy. Meridia inhibits noreprnephrine/epinephrine and Dopamine reuptake, Phentermine works on the sympathetic system and cause you to eat less.
