What flowers liked: Although this could heal on its own the chance of infection or other potentially fatal complications is very high. This is an emergent situation and should be seen immediately at an emergency room/trauma center.

Depends % of pnumo: In spontaneous rupture ( of bleb ), depends on % of pneumothorax, 30% ( unilateral )or less could be safely observed. In a tension pnumo which causes displacement of heart results in blockage of venous return to heart results quick demise if chest tube is not placed. Major vascular injury by penetrating (stab) wounds may cause quick death if untreated infection(empyema) is a long term problem.
