A member asked:

What is an icp monitor and where is it used?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ICP monitoring: It stand for intracranial pressure monitor. And it's used when it's important for the patient's treatment such as post-op neurosurgery, after a brain trauma, aneurysm rupture, large stroke, meningitis, brain swelling of any other cause, etc. It's an invasive method so it should be used only when the information is extremely important and for short period of time.
