A member asked:

Periodic sharp pains in roof of mouth (hard palette). could this be caused by frequent clinching/grinding or a sign of something more serious?

Sinus infection?: It is unlikely that grinding ones teeth would cause palate pain. More likely due to a sinus infection or possible herpes outbreak. Best to go to your dentist or ENT for an evaluation if the pain persists for more than 3 days.

Not grinding: Pain in the hard palate is not from grinding. Have your dental professional take a look when you are experiencing the pain for a diagnosis.
