A member asked:

Is my thyroid causing kidney stones?

Probably not: The thyroid has little to do with the urinary tract and stones. The parathyroid glands (4 small glands situated behind the thyroid) control calcium metabolism and may be related. If you've had recurrent stones see a specialist to get worked up. www.peedoc.com @thepeedoc.

Kidney stones : You are probably referring to parathyroid glands. These control calcium in your blood. If over active , they can cause kidney stones. These stones would consist of calcium. Ask your doctor if you had these kind of stones.
