Hydrate: Usually nothing. It runs its course without treatment. Antibiotics are recommended only for certain people: the elderly and immunosuppressed, for example. The important thing is to keep yourself well hydrated.

Salmonella Treatment: Oral hydration is important. Some use anti-diarrheal medications. In some cases intravenous replacement of electrolytes & fluids may be required along w hospitalization. Antibiotics may be indicated in patients who are immunocompromised or with sepsis.
