Many things: Esophagitis, ulcer , esophageal tears, cnacer at the worst ( hopefully not) hiatal hernia, you need to see your family doc or a GI specialist for evaluation and the proper treatment.

Taking GERD medicine from 2 months but get it again as I skip medicine. New Dr. said LOW STOMACH ACID leads to acid reflux because LES only closes with right amount of acid in stomach. PPis and antacids only lead to further problems. What should I do?
Is a toupet fundoplication a good option for refractive GERD not controlled with PPIs and antacids despite diet changes? Are the side effects (gas, bloating, risk for dumping syndrome really high) from the surgery and possibly worse than the GERD?
Have sinus drainage, constant lump in throat, stomach grumbling for 1 week. Antacids do not help? Is this drainage or gerd that will not go away?
