Yes: Yes, for two reasons: (1) having an STI is an indication that you've had unprotected sex, which increases your risk for hiv. (2) some stis can increase your risk of acquiring hiv. For example, stis that cause genital ulcers (syphilis, herpes) increase the risk because they create openings in the skin, which normally serves as a barrier to HIV infection.
