BriefIntenseExercise: The goal, based on evidence from early 1960s, is to push you heart rate all to way to max, briefly. ~230-age an approximation. During each heart beat the heart blocks its own blood supply & as heart rate increases, time between beats gets shorter faster than the rate goes up. Yet blood needed ↑es with ↑ blood pressure. If pushed high enough, severe narrowings limit blood flow & ekg changes occur.
