Wrong treatment: Testicular atrophy in a 16-y-o is best corrected by varicocelectomy or spermatic vein ligation. Best results are from a laparoscopic spermatic vein ligation or clipping or an open microsurgical varicocelectomy, better than by radiologic embolisation or open spermatic vein ligation. Left testis demonstrates "rebound growth in approx. 70% of boys. HCG will not make a post-pubertal testis grow.

No: There is no evidence for HCG reversing testicular atrophy or hypotrophy. What can reverse the condition is surgical ligation of the varicocele 95% of the times in this age group. That is an output procedure with a high rate of success. Do not delay.
