A member asked:

What is the difference between compensatory vs. preventative medicine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Prevention&treatment: Preventive medicine is to prevent certain medical conditions by life style changes, avoiding to be obese, smoking cessation, proper nutrition, exercise, immunisations and other means compensatory medicine is to treat the conditions by drugs, surgery and by other modern modalities if prevention fails or is not practiced, that is after the fact.
