Statins: Statins are used for treatment of hypercholesterolemia. They have been shown to prevent adverse cardiac events in people with cad.

They prevent!: Research is shown that many people who take statins have fewer heart attacks, stents, bypass surgeries, and cardiac-related deaths compared with similar people who take a placebo in controlled, blinded studies! this includes people with a history of heart disease and people who only have risk factors for heart disease. The research is really quite impressive.
