What is medically classified as an anorexic?

Behavior and weight: Anorexia nervosa involves a refusal to maintain normal body weight for your height and age. The person does not consume enough food and some will simply starve themselves. They couple this with exercise and other methods to burn calories. The result is unhealthy loss of weight that can cause irreversible damage to the body, including heart muscle or bones. It is serious and needs treatment.

Anorexic agents are…: …drugs that suppress the appetite to help control weight. Many are stimulants that have potentially harmful side effects as well as addictive potential. Newer agents are being studied to more closely mimic the body's natural system of hunger & satiety (ghrelins & leptins). For list of anorexics, see: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/anorectic.
