Depends.: Taking calcium does not preclude you from taking other supplements like Folic Acid or vitamin d. But "dietary supplement" means different things to different people. It's best to take the supplements you're taking in to your doctor and have a discussion with them about their safety and efficacy.

Generally yes: Calcium supplementation is generally safe when taken as in a multiple vitamin. Vitamind and calcium mixtures like citracal-plus d agre also often safe whe taken as directed. Most side effects from supplements occur from taking more tables than is directed. Excessive calcium levels may cause kidney stones to form and cause problems for the thyroid gland. See yourdoctor if in doubt about supplements.
