A member asked:

Which type of calcium supplement should you take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The cheapest: Take the cheapest one you tolerate. Calcium carbonate is the least extensive. Calcium gluconate is fractionally better absorbed and sometimes better tolerated, but is more expensive per mg of calcium absorbed. And don't forget adequate vitamin D; it can really help with calcium absorption in the intestine.
