what is another levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system besides mirena?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Michael Swor

Other IUDs: There was an iud called progestasert that contained progestin hormone, but now the only ones other than Mirena (levonorgestrel) come from other countries.

It shouldn't: The laser energy is absorbed by the layers of the skin and would not reach deeper into the body. Your Mirena (levonorgestrel) should be fine.
