Are you sure?: Myelomeningocele is an abnormality where the spinal cord is exposed through the skin. It requires surgery on an infant within the first few days of life.

Odd question: This is a dramatic defect usually found at the base of the back by prenatal ultrasound or at birth.The open sac (cele) must be operated on quickly or the patient will die from infection. You don't have a 44 yo patient trying to self treat this. If yours is a question about some other related issue, please start over and provide more background information.At this point, the question makes no sense
