Is it better to use disposable to reusable diapers?

Personal choice: The green earth folks promoted old style diapers for a while.Data showed the cost /benefit didn't work as energy used for cleaning surpassed the environmental impact of disposables.Some like the reusables , but they stink forever & the plastic over-pants make babies bottom sweat a lot.I prefer the disposables.
