Moist heat: Applying moist heat after the swelling has stopped, will help reduce swelling. Apply often, excess blood and fluids from injury will the be resorted faster. Also try homeopathic remedies for trauma. Those remedies containing arnica montana are especially helpful in speeding up recovery. Vitamin shoppe and the like usually carry these.

Neck trauma: If this bump is getting bigger by the minute, have her evaluated at the ed. There are vital structures in the neck on either side of the voicebox and if the trauma occurred in that area, a blood vessel could have ruptured. Further out are muscles and if the injury occurred there, it could be less serious. Initial treatment is cold compress, not hot. If you are not sure, please bring her to the ed.
