Most people who drink smoothies will gain weight because smoothies are yummy, easy to slurp down, and have calories. The only way to lose weight is to taken in fewer calories than one uses, each day. If certain types of smoothies make a person not eat or drink other calories, it might work.

Not by itself: Some food plans may include protein shakes or smoothies as meal replacements, but you can't rely exclusively on these for nutrition. If you're adding the smoothies onto a diet that already contains the amount of calories and nutrients you need, you will not lose weight. It may help to review your overall food plan with a nutritionist to see how the soy smoothies fit into it. Exercise too!
