Lab confirmation: I'm very sorry to hear about your son. If he has a positive hcv antibody but a negative riba or hcv rna, then he may have been exposed to hcv but cleared it on his own. If that's the case, then there's nothing to worry about. He only has chronic hepatitis c if he has both a positive antibody test and a positive hcv RNA or riba.
