Can start now: I assume that you have used Provera (medroxyprogesterone) to initiate a menses after some time without one. I usually recommend that patients start their birth control pill on day 1 of their cycle. Therefore you can start the pill as soon as you get your period - assuming it is your period - not related to an unknown pregnancy or abnormal spotting.
