PCOS?: An elevated level of dheas may indicate an adrenocortical tumor, adrenal cancer, or adrenal hyperplasia. An increased level of dheas is not diagnostic of a specific condition; it usually indicates the need for further testing to pinpoint the cause of the hormone imbalance. Polycystic ovarian syndrome:dheas may be elevated but may also be normal as this disorder is usually related to ovariaandrogen.

In women, PCOS?: In women, high DHEAs levels are seen in various conditions. Mildly high DHEAs is seen in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Extremely high DHEAs level are seen in adrenal tumors.
