I got my blood test yesterday, everything came back good except...a tes showed i am anemic now, i take b12 n supp everyday, anit be a sign of autoimmune?

Diff types anemia: Lots of causes for anemia. B12 deficiency is only 1 kind. More common in women is iron deficiency (blood loss w/period), other types as well. Taking B12 supp works if B12 deficient, but worthless if not. Check with your doc. Follow up blood tests can often find the cause, autoimmune, nutritional, other.. Uncommonly, needs more evaluation-hematology consult, possible bone marrow evsluation.

Probably not: Processes that can disrupt the normal life span of a red blood cell may cause anemia. Causes include decreased production of red blood cells or hemoglobin, or increased loss or destruction of red blood cells. For examples, low iron in blood causes decreased production and bleeding causes increased loss. Further testing is necessary to know for sure, so speak with your physician for next steps.
