Many causes: In women the most common cause is not drinking enough water. In men, the most common is too much calcium in the urine and there are several causes for this. Find an expert in the metabolic evaluation of kidney stones, usually an endocrinologist, or go to a major medical center with a stone clinic. We can prevent over 90% of recurrences with proper evaluation and treatment of the underlying cause.
