What is progestin used for?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many things: Primarily used to balance estrogen such as with post menopausal hormone replacement therapy or birth control pills. Sometimes we use it to start someone's cycle and it can be used to treat bleeding problems. The word progestin is a general term that refers to the class of drugs similar to Progesterone and is not a specific drug.
