A number of things..: Can increase the risk for pressure sores: the inability to feel the onset of a pressure sore (in spinal cord injured patients, for example) or the inability to reposition oneself to avoid too much pressure on one site for too long (e.g. Cva, general debility.) the rule is "no pressure, no sore." unrelieved pressure on some areas can cause a pressure sore in as little as 2 hours.
