A member asked:

My mother's eye sight is +1.75. does it mean her corrected vision is 20/20, if she can see distant objects?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Eye sight is measured as 20/20, 20/30, 20/40 etc. The refractive power is measured in diopters (look up on internet). A + 1.75 is a power of correction for the eye. If this is her true prescription then she is far sighted (focus past the far point). If this is her reading add then it is for reading at about 22-24 inches.
