Yes: Although yoga is good for the body. If you're having sciatic type symptoms that flareup with yoga type activities, then i would curtail those type of exercises. Never less you should not have sciatica, and a true work up is warranted. See orthopedic spinal specialist.

Possible: Sometimes, specific postures can affect sciatica but for most, yoga is a good form of exercise for someone with back issues. If there are certain postures that increase sciatic pain then just avoid or modify those that do.

Yes: Yoga is excellent at maintaining flexible muscles, but can overstretch ligaments (lumbar and sacroiliac) which can irritate nerves within the ligaments.These nerves can refer pain to the back, buttocks, & leg, imitating sciatica.If the ligaments are already injured, further stretching causes more pain.A good physical, incl osteopathic hands-on exam might determine if this is a problem for you.

Yes: Extreme flexion and extension poses can be hard on the spine so stay away form those types positions.
