No.: Studies done in the himalayas have been discredited because the poor written records of birth certificates. Ages are difficult to verify in those regions. Even said that nowadays is well known that hypothermia and low oxygen ( like in high place ) causes hibernation of cells in the body putting them under inanimated suspension preventing cellular damage and cell death. Yes, qualified : High altitude decreases the risk of heart disease but can increase problems with lung conditions. This effect on longevity is virtually obliterated by life style factors. Eating a healthy diet, not smoking, getting a good night sleep, moving through the day, keeping a healthy weight and good stress management increases general health and longevity.
