Magnets: This uses magnets to generate a tiny electric current inside the brain. Some studies show some effect for major depression, but it's no cure-all, and people have ended up with seizures. I would be reluctant to try it, especially if I do not know exactly who's the operator.

For depression: Rtms is very well tolerated and may work when medications do not. In one study, about 60% get better w/ the treatment and about 40% have no symptoms of depression after the treatment. Seizures are no more common than with medication. Only reported seizures occurred during treatment. It works by stimulating the part brain which modulates mood. I highly recommend it.

(rTMS) stands for : Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation uses magnetic fields to stimulate neurons in the brain involved in mood regulation. A magnetic pulse causes conduction in neurons in the brain (which can result in hand movement etc.). It has been fda approved for depression since 2008, and a newer device that reaches deeper in the brain was approved in 2013. http://advancedmentalhealth.com/tms.

rTMS is a non invasive treatment technique used in the treatment of various psychiatric and neurological disorders. Stimulation of specific brain regions, and thus effecting the communication between these sites in the brain is accomplished by inducing high and low intensity magnetic fields. Many disorders, OCD, PTSD, Depression and more have encouraging studies. Seek out a reputable center
