A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many possible: Depending on the nature, severity, location and frequency of the ocular pain, there are many possible causes. Some of the more likely causes include dry eye syndrome, sinus disease, iritis, blepharitis, recurrent corneal erosion, misdirected eyelashes, among many others. See your ophthalmologist to help sort it out, preferably when you are actually having the pain.
