There can be: Not all back pain is necessarily from the spine elements. Pain can be referred to the back from other regions including the abdomen like diverticulitis, appendicitis, an ulcer, gallbladder problems, pancreatitis, etc. If the symptoms bother you enough, you should be evaluated.
