A member asked:

Is it totally abnormal for a 17 year old to have a blood pressure problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

?Problem?: Low or high blood pressure issues can affect a 17yo (i'm evaluating a 7yo now). In kids some specific cause is often found like a kidney problem but not always. High levels are more common in overweight teens & can normalize with weight loss. If persistently over 95% range meds should be considered.
