Why taking both?: Not sure why you would be on both. Suboxone is for opioid detox although some physicians may use it for pain management. Taking Suboxone with Codeine can essentially make the Codeine ineffective.

Yes: Suboxone contains Buprenorphine plus a short acting opiate blocker called naloxone. Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic partial opiate agonist. Suboxone can take away the cravings for opiates so the addict can work on figuring out why he or she takes opiates in the first place. If you are already on Codeine and then take suboxone, it can put you in immediate withdrawal symptoms. Please seek help.
