Yes: Babys will often swallow air when drinking from a bottle. Clearly, that air has to get out one end or the other..........In addition, digestion of the formula/breast milk will also result in the formation of co2 and other gasses that the body removes by passage of flatus.

Gas: Passing gas without pain is quite normal for babies. S/he may be swallowing more air while taking the bottle. Does he burp well? There is no need for alarm if your baby is behaving well.
