Infection: Your current symptoms are probably not connected to your past accident but suggest the start of an infection - probably viral like the flu if you also have stuffy and/or runny nose, coguh, fever.

Chills: Chills plus other symptoms sound like an infection. "Back pain" ...first thing comes to mind is a kidney infection. I doubt the car accident has anything to do with this. See your family doc soon and get evaluated.

Virus?: A common virus, like the ones that cause colds, could cause muscle soreness, headaches and chills. This is the most likely explanation. The car accident several years ago is probably not related. Were you exposed to anyone who was ill lately?
