How do you screen for prostate cancer?

6 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Blood test and exam: The current screening tests include a blood test and digital rectal examination. Imaging studies and x-rays are not part of the screening process. The screening tests should be performed once yearly unless you have risk factors. Screening is recommended to start at age 50 unless you have risk factors and may start earlier if there are risk factors.
