Yeast infection: Sometimes if there are fold in the corners of the mouth, overgrowth of yeast can occur causing the scabs to appear.

Diagnosis: What you describe could be a number of things or a combination of causes. Even not being hydrated enough or habitually licking your lips could be the cause. If drinking more water and applying some vaseline to the corner of your lips for a few days or more doesn't help, see you dentist for an evaluation.
