Diabetes and Fruit: I love watermelon myself, so like this question. This would all depend on how your blood sugar is responding to this daily ingestion of sugar. Watermelon's calories are carbohydrates. So, it would seem that if you are eating watermelon every day you are eating a lot of carbohydrates. How is this affecting your daily blood sugars? Are you still in good control?

Yes, but...: As long as you keep portions in line with your diabetic diet, and don't binge, no food is completely off limits. In fact, fruits and veggies are particularly good for you, & most people don't eat enough. The "natural sugar" in fruit is balanced by their many nutrients, so it's ok to eat some daily. It is important to check blood sugars as often as your doc recommends, & adjust accordingly.
