Wait it out: Transient synovitis of the hip can arise from trauma, known or unrecognized, where a kid comes down on an extended heal & transfers the pressure to the hip joint.Over several hours, fluid accumulates in the hip joint & the kid limps. It will usually self heal over several days as the fluid is reabsorbed by the body.Ibuprofen for pain is helpful.
