6 mos old: Flu vaccine has past muster in research trials for children 6 mos and older. In the near future, trials are studying whether it can be given even younger.And the yearly after that age.

Flu shots: Flu shots are available usually throughout the year depending on availability. The flu season can vary per region but usually starts when cold weather starts. Many MDs begin giving flu shots in NE area, for instance, around Sept/Nov.
